Eigentlich ist alles Blues. Auch die heutige populäre Musik ist Blues. Wenn auch in den Klangfarben anders interpretiert. Aber das International Blues Project macht Blues. Von gutem, alten Cotton-Field-Blues bis hin zum Chicago Blues, von Bessie Smith bis Aretha Franklin, von W.C. Handy bis Duke Ellington. Die Besetzung selbst spielt dabei eine untergeordnete Rolle.Wichtig ist, dass die Musiker den Blues empfinden können. Nur so sind sie in der Lage, ihn auch auf der Bühne spielen zu können
